I'm currently trying to learn Flash ... I've always felt there was nothing at all wrong with hating Flash, but this feels like it's going okay. I'm hoping it'll make me more employable in the long run. XD

I downloaded video tutorials from CartoonSmart ([link]) ... I'd recommend them for learning the basics, definitely, but I'm not sure if I'm going to regret going for the whole starter set, as some of them seem a little bit useless. The guy doing them is a pretty awful animator, but seems to be making an okay living from knowing his way around a program ... I'm watching the lip-syncing one just now, mainly to learn how to scrub through sound, and have just had it stated in my ear that a person talking will tend to close his mouth between each word. Now, testing for myself, my lips only close once while saying "what the hell are you talking about?", and it's not at the end of a word. o_O Right now the Richard Nixon head that he's made (I know, right?) is talking out of alternating sides of its mouth ... I think I've learned all I need to know from this one ...

The four-legged walk-cycle video I watched yesterday contained, at one part, the statement "I think these are too big of a legs" ... "too [adjective] of a [noun]" is a real pet peave of mine in the first place (as it makes no fucking sense ... if the [noun] is too [adjective], say so), but knocking that plural in there just made any respect I might have had for the guy evaporate.

I'm picky, I know. But I found it amusing. *^_^*

I'm currently trying to get myself back into drawing much more regularly, and have been trying to spend at least 15 minutes to an hour a day sketching to get back into the habit ... this is resulting in a lot of unfinished pictures, but it's fun! XD So hopefully I might be able to start posting on here more regularly sooooon!

... Also, I treated myself to a new pair of boots last weekend, and I feel the need to repeat this to everybody, as if it's a real achievement. If you'd seen my previous pair of boots, you would know that this is indeed the case for my feet.
